“ No Young Mind Left Behind ”
Solidarite Haitienne Pour L’Action Sociale Organization (SOHASO) has been providing scholarships, school supplies, food and clothing for the disadvantage children in Haiti.
Trips to Haiti are planned to deliver financial aid and school materials for the learners. We also provide books, school supplies and as needed, clothing and uniforms.
An assistant located in Haiti visits the students regularly and keeps (SOHASO) informed of all ongoing learning activities for each learner as well as other educational and personal necessities.
Materials for Learning
Many educational materials in local languages are often out of date. We work with school leaders and publishers to ensure that students have access to current textbooks that are age appropriate and written in their primary language.
Continuing Education
We review the educational programs and curriculums to address the needs of teachers and their student communities. From training on the latest technology to new pedagogical methods, we help teachers make their classrooms engaging and successful.
Support for Communities
Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure students have the necessary support to do their best learning.
SOHASO’s New Project: Nearly -600- children had to flee their homes with their families to find refuge at the Centre Sportif De Carrefour due to gang violence.
